If I were to describe myself, I love planning and coming up with mysteries and games.
It started with us having Halloween parties and then I came up with different themes for the party, such as the Zombie Hospital where our visitors were infected with the deadly virus and needed to find the cure before they could be discharged. When I find myself in different situations or when I see certain people, I can't help but imagine how it/they would fit into a game.

Then getting to sit and write and put it together becomes like another temporary world. I have been married for many years to a man with a crazy labyrinth of thoughts and stories in my head and always wondered what it would be like to spin around in there among the fantastic windings.

Then I met Micke, a gamer with a fantastic sense for fun solutions and a technical savvy like few others. I introduced Micke to my husband Chris and they both clicked, of course, and now a few years later we now have our own company where all three of us can give vent to our creative galloping thoughts.

I’ve always been told that I’m a creative person with a wild imagination. Luckily, I’m married to Cindy, a woman who’s not only creative herself but also incredibly patient and wise. Whether it was pure genius or sheer madness that led her to connect me with Micke, I’m still not sure. Suddenly, the three of us—all creative in our own ways—started building on each other’s ideas. And while we’re all creative, we each bring something different to the table, which means we complement each other perfectly.

One of my favourite things to do is craft stories. I’ve written several books—both novels under the pseudonym C.C. Monö and nonfiction works. But creativity isn’t just about making things or writing stories. It’s also about seeing the world from fresh perspectives. For nearly 20 years, I’ve explored the concept of natural followership and given many talks on the subject. So, in addition to being part of Brightland Maze, I also run www.naturalfollowership.com.

Mikael Torstensson

My name is Mikael Torstensson and I am one of the founders of Brightland Maze.
I have always created my own puzzles and games since I was young.

The dream of running my own escape room has been with me for a long time.
My main strength in Brightland Maze is programming and developing technical solutions. This, together with the love for murder investigations, mysteries and escape rooms, makes every day a puzzle.

I got the idea for Brightland Maze during the pandemic when my sister and I met every weekend and started playing different investigation games. In the end, we had all played Exit The game, which is a big favorite. Then we moved on to murder investigations and other similar games.

One thing that irritated me was the growing use of AI generated game material, I think it kills the gaming experience. Therefore, it became an important factor for us when we are now creating Sweden's best mystery and investigation games.
